Miami's culinary landscape is a vibrant tableau of innovation and tradition, continually evolving to delight even the most discerning gourmands. The city's dynamic and youthful gastronomic scene is bursting with surprises, offering various dining experiences catering to diverse palates. With an influx of new establishments gracing its streets, navigating Miami's burgeoning restaurant scene can be an exhilarating yet daunting endeavor.
TROPEZÓN MIAMI
Hidden in the passages of historic Española Way in South Beach, Tropezón is an Andalusian gin and tapas bar that has taken its inspiration from Spanish village saloons, where men play afternoon cards while the women chat over sips of Sherry.
Tropezón means to stumble over or to trip over something. Tropezón bills itself as being “for the weary traveler and the lively local, a refreshing escape from the typical; an intersection of sacred geometry where mistakes are excused, and all slippery souls are welcome.”
The restaurant has a tapas-style menu with shareable dishes like pan con tomate, gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, jamon iberico, and empanadillas. Gin takes center stage on the drink menu, boasting over 20 house-infused varieties and other updated classics like pinot noir and espresso martini. Previously running one of downtown Miami’s favorite bars, Lost Boy Dry Goods, the team that owns and operates this popular establishment ensures that the expertise behind Tropezón is as storied as its inspiration.
COTE MIAMI
The Design District is home to Cote Miami–a Korean steakhouse offering everything from tangy ceviche to melt-in-your-mouth ribeye. The staff operates precisely like bees in a hive, each striving to earn the queen's favor, which, in this case, is the guest. The restaurant’s ambiance is a futuristic feast for the senses. Cote’s New York site is a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the Miami venue opened its doors in the winter of 2022.
In the words of the proprietor and hospitality visionnaire Simon Kim, COTE Miami “marries fun and fire of Korean BBQ.” Cote infuses a fine dining experience with immpecible ingredients and show-stopping beverages. Chef Moritz Esser, who transitioned from the restaurant's esteemed New York location to Miami, presents a signature menu featuring 45-day USDA prime dry-aged beef, a Butcher’s Feast with four select cuts accompanied by Korean sides, and an elevated Steak Omakase experience. The veteran New York-based team at Cote has carefully woven the spirit of South Florida into the Cote Miami concept, giving it a distinct sense of local flare with Latin and South American touches while mirroring Cote’s unwavering standard for excellence.

The villa also has a modern outdoor infinity pool, jacuzzi, and a charming pergola. The secluded area is surrounded by lush tropical foliage and completed by a private boat deck.
MR. OMAKASE
Serving delicious sushi, Mr. OmaKase, in the downtown area, offers 10, 14, and 18-course options. Omakase is the Japanese translation of the simple message of “I’ll leave it up to you” and is the tradition of letting the chef choose what is served based on seasonality, quality ingredients, and minimalist preparation.
The menu changes frequently based on availability and seasonality. Still, the 14-course dinner commences with the starter of the day, a seasonal appetizer, a six-piece sashimi plate, eight phenomenal pieces of chef’s selection nigiri, and more delicious things. Then there is chawanmushi, a handroll, miso soup, and daily dessert.
Drinks are offered á la carte, allowing you the delightful experience of selecting your own ochoko from an enchanting array of glassware when you order sake. This charming ritual enhances the overall enjoyment. For the 14-course meal, some items have been updated: those no longer available are marked in red, and the new additions are highlighted in green. While nigiri remains on the menu, the specific toppings are not yet detailed.

CARBONE
Before you even place your order, impeccably attired servers present an array of complimentary delights: a cube of decadent Parmesan, freshly pickled giardiniera, artisanal salumi, and a bread basket brimming with crispy garlic bread. Carbone is one of the most celebrated Italian restaurants of the last decade. Chef Mario Carbone notes that the restaurant's signature rigatoni has become a veritable social media sensation. Securing a reservation at Carbone, the highly sought-after Miami Beach restaurant, often requires weeks of anticipation due to its immense popularity.
The New York Times aptly described it, “It is a fancy red-sauce joint as directed by Quentin Tarantino, bringing back the punch-in-the-guts thrills of a genre that everybody else sees as uncultured and a little embarrassing while exposing the sophistication that was always lurking there.” To fully experience this culinary den, begin with the prosciutto and mozzarella, then indulge in lobster fra diavolo. The veal marsala or the ribeye Diana with potatoes Louie are excellent choices if you prefer meat as your main course. Complement your meal with one of their particularly delicious margaritas crafted with tequila, orange, and lime.
